Noted Architectural Restorationist to Speak
William Seale, a historian and architectural restorationist, talks about his work at the White House for this year’s Elizabeth Sites Kuhlman Lecture sponsored by the Friends of Art and Flowers. In addition to his work at the White House, he has restored numerous state capitol buildings, including Michigan’s, as well as the George Eastman House in Rochester, N.Y., and a number of historic homes. He is the author of The White House: History of an American Ideal, Of Houses and Time: Personal Histories of America’s National Trust; and Michigan’s Capitol: Construction and Restoration. among many others. The October 6 lecture begins at 10:30 a.m. and is followed at noon by a luncheon.
