Giving you access to a large selection of works in our collections
How to request image licensing
Please submit your request to The Bridgeman Art Library using our online form, or by contacting Bridgeman at the addresses below.
Images of objects from the Detroit Institute of Arts collection may be obtained from the Bridgeman Art Library.
Founded in 1972, the Bridgeman Art Library works with museums, art galleries and artists to make the best art available for reproduction. The result is an outstanding archive of images drawn from collections throughout the world, all of which are available for licensing.
All requests are subject to review and approval. Based on your project or publication, we may require more information once your request has been submitted. Costs vary and will be determined based on your use, available photography, and preferred delivery method.
Some works in our collection have not been photographed. In these cases, new photography of the work can be arranged pending the approval of the curator. Please allow additional time for this service.
Works of art appearing in the Images, although owned by the Museum, may be protected by copyright, publication rights or related interests that are not owned by the Museum. The Museum is not giving permission to exploit any third party rights. It is your responsibility to obtain whatever copyright or other permissions may be required from an artist, their agent, estate or any other third party rights holder.
