Ireland/2008—directed by Lance Daly (75 min.)

On the fringes of Dublin, two kids, Kylie (Kelly O’Neill) and Dylan (Shane Curry), live with their troubled families in a suburban housing complex drained of life, color and the prospect of way out. When events prompt Dylan to run away, Kylie decides to go along – together they make their way to the alluring nighttime lights of a magical downtown Dublin, in search of Dylan's brother and the possibility of a new life. Director Lance Daly's dreamlike Dublin, as seen through the innocent eyes of Kylie and Dylan, is a kaleidoscope of wonder and mystery. But as the night wears on, these youngsters must rely on the kindness of strangers, on their trust in each other, and on a chance encounter with yet another Dylan – this one named Bob. In English with English subtitles.

“Affecting, heartfelt and flawlessly performed.” –Ronnie Scheib, Variety
