For those who find it hard to wait until our annual Oscar® Nominated Short Films program in February, we’re delighted to present this terrific program of recent short films – all new to the DFT and a featuring a celestial lineup of some of today’s most celebrated performers – that have premiered within the last year-and-a-half at such film festivals as Sundance, Cannes, London, The Hamptons, Chicago, Tribeca and, yes, the impossible-to-get-into Friar’s Club Comedy Film Festival in New York. Alongside the debut performances of a number of dazzling newcomers are such luminaries as Colin Firth, Lily Tomlin, Judi Dench, Keira Knightly and Jason Alexander, working in genres as varied as comedy, sci-fi, drama and even a musical, guided by talented first-time directors as well as such celebrated names as writer/director Neil LaBute (In the Company of Men).
