THE FILMS OF LADISLAW STAREWICZ WITH LITTLE BANG THEORY

Friday, November 01, 2013

7:00 PM Detroit Film Theatre

Join us when Frank Pahl and Little Bang Theory provide a live soundtrack for Ladislaw Starewicz’s surreal puppet animation films from the 1920s and '30s. Starewicz began creating his stop-motion films in 1910, at first using dried insects with articulated joints. Included in the program will be his masterwork, the 1934 short The Mascot, which inspired directors up to the era of computer generated images and the work of animators like Tim Burton. (90 min.) Free with museum admission.
