Once again, some of the most entertaining, witty and creative examples of British filmmaking can be found in their incomparable and often startling television advertising. Unlike any other TV advertisers in the world, Britain’s unique, visually audacious Mad Men consistently fashion imaginative, witty, technically sophisticated cutting-edge productions that have traditionally been the earliest showcases for soon-to-be celebrated filmmakers such as Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Prometheus) and Alan Parker (Midnight Express). Since the 1980s, each year’s collection of top BTAA prizewinners – now known as British Arrows – has toured the world in a showcase that has grown a substantial following in the select number of cities in which it plays. This year’s tour will stop at a limited number of major museums in the United States, including, of course, the DIA.  (approximately 75 min.)
