 Detroit Film Theatre

Detroit and Detroiters have been the subject of many notable documentaries in recent years. Lassoing that output and energy will be the mission of the inaugural Freep Film Film Festival. The new event, which arrives March 20-23, will feature Detroit and Michigan-focused docs, screening about a dozen films over its four-day run, along with offering other community engagement activities. The festival's lineup, which will be announced in full in early 2014, will include films that address issues facing our region and others that celebrate what makes us unique.  The event is being produced by the Detroit Free Press and Detroit Media Partnership, in conjunction with the Detroit Film Theatre and the Fillmore Detroit. More info, including ticket details, will be housed at freepfilmfestival.comfacebook.com/freepfilmfest and twitter.com/freep_film_fest, along with the DIA's website at www.dia.org.
