Black Women Rock

Founded by Jessica Care Moore in 2004, Black Women Rock! is a multi-media tribute to pioneer rocker Betty Davis. BWR is a Detroit-based group of vocalists, musicians and visual artists celebrating the contributions of women in the music and arts community. Kresge Court. Funding provided by Friends of African and African American Art, in celebration of their 50th anniversary.

 
 

 

 

 

Drop-In Workshop: Quilting
Quilting has a rich and varied history throughout Europe, with its earliest roots in Ancient Egypt. Join us in the studio to learn more about quilt patterns, then use fabric to create a 6 by 6 inch sample suitable for framing.

Drawing in the Galleries for Youth
6–9 p.m.
(Ages 6–14, children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult)
Artist/instructors help participants create pencil drawings to take home. No experience necessary; materials provided.
