Composer and vocalist Rasul Muhammad joins Wendell Harrison in a Tribute to Detroit, which includes many musical styles present in Detroit-area communities including Reggae, Rhythm & Blues, Jazz and Latin. The performance will feature new original compositions by Harrison and Muhammed performed by Wendell Harrison (tenor sax,clarinet), Rasul Muhammad (vocals), Pamela Wise (keyboards), Vaughn Klugh (guitar), Greg Freeman (percussion), Damon Warmack (bass), Nate Winn (drums), Dawud Muhammad (master of ceremonies)
 
 
Drop-In Workshop: Adinkra Cloth
Adinkra cloth is hand-printed fabric made in Ghana.  Learn more about this Ghanaian art form and create a small banner using cloth and hand-made adinkra stamps.
 
 
 
Drawing in the Galleries for Youth
6–9 p.m.
(Ages 6–14, children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult)
Artist/instructors help participants create pencil drawings to take home. No experience necessary; materials provided.
