Family Performance: Raas Competition 2 p.m. Raas, a folk dance traditional to North India, is known for energetic performances by men and women using decorated sticks called dandiya. The dance has been adapted by American university students and is performed competitively by student teams across the United States. University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and Case Western Reserve University will perform in competition in the DIA’s theater. This event is in conjunction with the exhibition The Private World of India’s Mughal Emperors: Albums of Painting and Calligraphy from the Chester Beatty Library.
