The expressive clay models that Bernini created as “sketches” offer extraordinary insights into the sculptor’s creative imagination. C.D. Dickerson will discuss these models, the subject of an exhibition he is curating at the Kimbell and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and some of the lessons learned.
