Meshell Ndegeocello remains an underground phenomenon, despite nine Grammy nominations and nine years of electrifying live performances worldwide.Born in Berlin and raised in WashingtonD.C.Meshell adopted the name Ndegeocello, which means “free like a bird” in Swahili, which also describes her music.She constantly continues to push boundaries with her brand of sophisticated mix of sweet, raucous, and deeply personal rock, jazz, funk, and soul.
Tickets for Meshell Ndegeocello are available online, or by calling the DIA Box Office at (313) 833-4005, Wednesday through Sunday from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. Theater Box Office window and will call ticket pick-up opens one hour prior to the start of the show.
Parking is available on John R Street, directly across from the DFT theater entrance.
