CELLULOID PLEASURES: American Pastimes of the Silent Era

March 15 - April 19, 2008 

In conjunction with the DIA exhibit Life’s Pleasures: The Ashcan Artists’ Brush with Leisure, 1895–1925 (March 2nd through May 25th, 2008) The DFT will offer five special matinee programs of silent films presented with live musical accompaniment. Life’s Pleasures brings together paintings of of vibrant leisure activities, observed by the circle of artists that depicted the diverse social strata of New York at play during the turn of the century.

Admission to all five Celluloid Pleasures matinees is free to the public.
