THE FRESHMAN

Saturday, April 12, 2008 4:00 PM

(1925) Directed by Fred C. Newmeyer

Perhaps no film comedian of the 1920’s better satirized American optimism for upward social mobility than Harold Lloyd, known to audiences of the period by his trademark boater and horn-rim glasses. The Freshman pitted his character, a working class boy in an ivy-league college, against scheming fooball teammates and the inscrutable heart of his land lady’s daughter (Jobyna Ralston). (76 min.) Sat. at 4:00

Admission is free to the public.
