Mr. Robinson will discuss the relationship of Picasso’s paintings to the surrealist movement of the 1930s, focusing particularly on paintings in the collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art. New research on the imagery in these works will modify and enhance our understanding of their enigmatic subjects.
