Discover the DIA Educator Event - African Art
Wednesday, January 22, 2014 |4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Art from Africa's varied cultures offer students a chance to explore issues of leadership, personal identity, and traditions. Explore African art with a teaching volunteer who will model the school field trip experience, highlighting options for guided visits and visitor-friendly gallery resources. These start at 4:30pm and will be offered throughout the event. This event will also include a chance to see the special mini-exhibition Balance of Power: A Throne for an African Prince.
Meet with DIA educators who will answer questions and seek your feedback on curriculum connections, professional development opportunities and supplemental classroom resources.
Gated self-parking is available in the Cultural Center Lot (located on John R directly behind the museum) daily and the Rackham Garage Structure until 10 p.m. Cost: $5.00
School administrators and educators who are residents of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties receive free admission. All other educators can sign up for a DIA Educator Pass to receive free general admission to the museum.
