Discover the DIA Educator Event - Spring Open House
Friday, March 14, 2014
4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
* Take a sample school tour of the DIA’s collection--tours start at 4:30pm and will be offered throughout the event.
* Strike up a conversation with a colleague and discover takeaways for the classroom.
* Meet our staff and learn about DIA school resources.
* Enjoy light refreshments.
For this night only, the DIA will offer educators free admission to Samurai: Beyond the Sword so they can preview the exhibition before planning field trips and explore curriculum links connecting the world of the Japanese Samurai to the Common Core and Michigan GLCE standards.
Stay late: the museum is open until 10 p.m. on Fridays: Enjoy a concert, draw in the galleries, catch a drop-in workshop, watch a movie, or simply explore the galleries on your own! See a listing of Friday Night Live! programs here.
Free self-parking is available in the Cultural Center Lot (located on John R directly behind the museum) pending availability.
School administrators and educators who are residents of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties receive free admission. All other educators can sign up for a DIA Educator Pass to receive free general admission to the museum.
