More than five hundred years after his lifetime, Dürer remains among the most known and influential printmakers of all time. The DIA possesses rich and deep holdings of his secular and religious woodcuts and engravings as well as one etching, among the first ever to be attempted in this medium which was new to art in the early 1500s. Dürer was also a painter, exceptional businessman and entrepreneur, author, friend of European literati, and court artists to emperors.

Nancy Sojka will discuss his career and exceptional achievements as based on
the DIA’s prints and drawing.
