The DFT's 36th year begins with a spectacular achievement by a modern master: the American premiere of director John Woo's complete, five-hour version of his new historical battle epic Red Cliff. In addition to an abundance of exciting new world cinema from Italy, France, South Korea, Belgium, Rwanda, Germany, and other countries, we’re delighted to introduce this season two new series on selected Saturdays at 4:00: DFT Docs, a program of extraordinary new independent documentaries, and DFT 101, a selection of essential classics that have redefined and expanded the language of cinema.
