The building project revealed an opportunity that only comes along once in a generation…if you’re lucky. That is, we had the chance to remove every object from the museum and re-think the best way to present what the Wall Street Journal calls “the most important museum West of Philadelphia!” The driving principle of our process was the singular importance of the objects themselves and the need to put them in context for the public. The final result is an interpretive approach that places many of these stunning objects within their original social, historical and spiritual, contexts and often within their role in daily life.
