Register for a Class
Pre-registration and pre-payment is required for all classes with fees. Space is limited, so register early. Walk-ins will be accommodated only if space is available.
Sign-language interpreters are available for an additional fee for classes requiring pre-registration. Ten-day advance notice is required.
DIA members receive a discount on classes and workshops. Call 313.833.7971 for membership information.
Email registration: Available up to 5 days before the first class begins. Registrations will accepted by phone after this time if space is available. For more information, call 313.833.4249.
Payment: Credit card payment preferred; if paying by check, payment must be received one week before the first class date.
Cancellation policy: If you are unable to attend a class for which you have registered, you must cancel one week in advance. The fee may be applied to a future class if canceling less than one week in advance.
Teacher workshops: Unless otherwise noted, teacher workshops are open to K-12 educators of all subjects. Because of the special focus on instructional issues, teacher workshops are for K-12 educators only. State Board Certified Continuing
Education Unit (SB-CEUs) Credits for Teacher Workshops of five hours or more SB-CEU credits are available. Continuing Education Units are a nationally recognized uniform measurement of participation in selected noncredit
continuing education experiences. Please consult your school district for specific SB-CEU requirements toward professional development. Day-long teacher workshops contain five hours of instructional time, eligible for .5 CEU
credits. SB-CEU credits are not available for Adult Classes. Currently our CEU sponsor charges no fee for a certificate of completion. A small fee is charged for an official transcript.
Please note: Photographs may be taken by DIA staff during classes and used for promotional purposes.
