Teacher Jarie Ruddy:

"The students (4th and 5th grades) loved the entire process of studying and creating their canopic jars. It resulted in many interesting discussions of ancient Egypytian cultures. Students particularly enjoyed working with the Pariscraft plaster gauze and Model Magic."

This project is also part of our "Art Through the Ages" class, a hands-on Art History class for grades 2 and 3 taught every other year. This year our study of Egypt will also include other teachers and include music, language arts, math, social studies, and science as well as art. Our plan is to culminate with a celebration for students, teachers and parents.
