Preparation:

This lesson is half of a team-taught project I developed with Michael Miller, social studies teacher at Best Middle School, Ferndale School District. Click to see the Cherishing Unity lesson plan. We worked on this lesson for two weeks with Mr. Miller's eighth grade class of 27 students, during their normal class period of 45 minutes daily. I also accompanied the students when they visited the DIA.
