Viewing the slides of art objects in the East
Asian collection prior to seeing the objects in
the DIA was an excellent preview for the trip to
the museum and an opportunity to discuss Taoist
symbols contained in the objects.
In the East Asian galleries, student viewed
objects and learned more about East Asian
cultures, philosophies, and art in a
guided tour. Students asked many questions and
had time to sketch in the galleries. Their
enthusiasm was visible.
