Nostalgia as I remember staying with a French friend whose apartment was on the ground floor of this promenade, and sunning on the beach of the Mediterranean Sea!

I could smell the sea, the tanning oil, feel the sun evoking energy out of my winter worn body and soul. The painting evokes life, excietment, and a feeling of being in paradise while in reality at the same time. Vive la France! Vive l'espoire!

I saw this beautiful boulevard along the Mediteranean in the winter. I look forward to seeing it in the spendor of spring. Nice and the surrounding region is lovely and the beauty captured in this painting is not an exaggeration!

I think the painting reminds me of the time i went to a festival/parade. Many people were there and it was very crowded, but I loved every bit of it.

Hot summers. Everyone has come to the beach today, all neatly lined up and ready to soak in the sun's rays. Ice cream, hot knishes, hot dogs, and sand all over everything.

It looks as if Matisse is looking out onto the street from a upper-level hotel window with excitement at all the activities taking place down below. It reminds me of a trip I took to Jamaica, wherein every morning I would walk out onto the balcony and behold the Caribbean Sea staring back at me, and think "Another day in paradise!"

The neverending landscape, the vibrant colors, and the simulation of movement adds vivacity and energy to this piece.

Memories of being in Cannes in the summer time with European vacationists milling about everywhere, always crowded but never much of a hassle. Everyone is on vacation.

The deep perspective of the beach and the boulevard suggests that it goes on and on. I feel blessed to have such memories to call up when I see a painting like this!

Feelings of warmth, optimism and expectation come to me when I view this work. I am reminded of celebrations from my childhood, especially the annual Flower Mart in Baltimore, my hometown.

The Joy of spending time on vacation. The fun of summer. It reminds me a touch of vacations at the grand hotel on mackinac island with the row of flags and water beyond.

This reminds me of vacation and Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. It's a boardwalk or a strand with a lot of activity/

Paintings remind me of places I've visited and experiences I've had. It's hard to understanding a painting without having some type of pesonal context.

happiness and the beginning of something new and great.
This reminds me of summertime downtown in my hometown of Bay City, and of my dad's flowers he used to plant all over our yard.

The festival is usually a celebration of beauty and community and I believe this painting exhibits this by the light, airy pastel colors and free-flowing brishstrokes.

When I can enjoy a beautiful day, relaxed with no cares. Enjoying a multitude of things at once, pretty ladies, flowers, blue sky and calm water, a parade and other festivities.

calmness of blue and the water is like glass. The flowers remind me a beautifully landscaped yard, and this is a place where people can go be together away from the pressures of society and get along.

It reminds me of the time after my mother died when I went to Mackinaw Island and was eating at the cafe in the fort which overlooked the lake. It was a time I was able to get away and leave behind tougher issues at least for awhile.

I makes me feel like I do when I'm on a balcony in southern Florida. Very relaxed and happy. Blue skys, flowers, happy ladies with flowers. I also feel an energy in the parade lines.

I think my response is to the blue and what seems to be a very sunny, warm day. This is how I feel on vacation in a tropical area.

it is very soothing and it seems it might be on a lake or ocean. the village down below might be having a parade and that gets me very excited and happy to have a gathering with my town. it looks like the people right on the left were picking flowers or selling them.

Very lightly painted, reminds me of a watercolor painting, festive parade, gives the feeling of happiness, celebration!

Many things aren't detailed, but the cues from what is detailed makes the viewer pay closer attention to the ladies on the balcony, the parade itself, the palm tree, the large flags, and the water in the distance.

This painting reminds me of parades I used to go to with my brothers as a child. The best part was always catching the candy. We brought pillow cases and filled them with tootsie rolls, blow pops, and smarties.

I have nice memories of those moments, which makes me like this painting. Its bright, cheerful colors trigger positive thoughts about my youth.
