Thursday, September 20, 2012
(Detroit)—The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) presents Fabergé: The DIA Gala Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. This year’s annual gala fundraiser that supports the DIA promises to be a night of elegant dining and outstanding entertainment, which also includes access to the exhibition Fabergé: The Rise and Fall, The Collection of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Attire is glamorous black tie.
“We are very much looking forward to welcoming DIA supporters to our first ‘post-millage’ gala,” said Graham W. J. Beal, DIA director. “Since the millage passed, we are focusing on building our operating endowment, and money raised from the gala will be an early contribution to those efforts.”
Co-chairs of this year’s gala celebration are Yvette Bing of Detroit, Peggy Daitch of Birmingham, Fair Radom of Bloomfield Hills and Kim Reuss of Bloomfield Hills.
Taking inspiration from the Fabergé jewels, the gala will feature décor drenched in luxury, opulence and drama. Forte Belanger will create Fabergé-inspired culinary masterpieces and sumptuous desserts. Entertainment carries a Russian-inspired theme, with petite ballerinas, Russian music and dancers, and interactive craft cocktails.
Sponsors of this year’s gala celebration include Cadillac, PVS Chemicals, Inc., Neiman Marcus, Ilitch Holdings, Inc., Quicken Loans, Richard and Jane Manoogian Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Tapper's Diamonds and Fine Jewelry, Christie's and Sigma Associates, Inc.
