DIA Opens Door to Cranbrook—Offers Special Promotion to Upgrade

Tuesday, September 28, 2004

Two new museums, one close at hand and the other a fair distance away, have joined other institutions where Affiliate level members and above may use their DIA membership card for free general admission and discount shopping privileges. The addition of the Cranbrook Art Museum and the Vancouver Art Museum brings the total number of museums in the DIA’s reciprocal membership program to thirty-four.

Upgrading your membership to any higher level opens up exciting benefits. Affiliate-level members ($150 annually) enjoy the reciprocal membership program, while Family Plus members ($100 annually) double to four the number of people they can bring to the museum. Contributor members ($500 annually) receive invitations to SneakPeek Previews of special exhibitions and a free subscription to the Bulletin of the Detroit Institute of Arts, a scholarly journal.

As a special promotion for those who upgrade during October, we’re offering a signed copy of American Beauty: Paintings from the Detroit Institute of Arts, 1770–1920 by DIA Director Graham W. J. Beal. To upgrade your membership and take advantage of this premium, call the Membership Helpline at 313.833.7971 and be sure to mention this special offer.

The DIA houses one of the world’s greatest collections of art, and your membership dues help us share it and care for it. And remember, your tax-deductible gift will have double the impact thanks to the Manoogian Challenge.
