Fresh Air Friday Performances At The DIA
Monday, May 24, 2004
The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is
giving visitors the best of both worlds, watching fantastic Friday night
performances outside … and enjoying workshops, tours and other activities
inside. Bring your chairs and blankets beginning June 11, when the DIA’s
Friday evening acts entertain on the north lawn of the museum. In addition,
hot dogs, ice cream and refreshments, including beer and wine will be
available on the circle drive of the museum, at the Woodward Plaza Café.
Before and after the performance, visitors can take advantage of the many
activities inside the museum.
The outdoor Friday performances will kick off during the Detroit Festival of the Arts on June 11 and run through the Marshall Field’s First Friday on September 5. Entertainment will begin at 7 p.m. In the case of inclement weather, performances will be moved indoors. Below is the line-up for June.
