Our auxiliary focuses on European works of art from the Middle Ages through the 19th century, in all their variety: the picture frame as well as the picture; the sculpture and the table upon which it sits; the carpet on the floor and the parquet underneath. Our diverse membership includes active collectors, scholars, and enthusiasts. We are committed to increasing our knowledge of European sculpture and decorative arts, through a wide variety of interesting programs and travel opportunities. With our funds, the Visiting Committee supports educational programs and acquisitions for the DIA's world-renowned collections.
