Volunteer Award Winner:
Volunteer to Volunteer - February 2011
Jerry Klein of the Gallery Service Committee has been named the February Volunteer-to-Volunteer awardee.
A native Detroiter, Jerry graduated from Macomb Community College and Western Michigan University. He obtained a master’s degree from Wayne State University.
Jerry became involved with the DIA following his retirement from Henry Ford Community College, where he taught industrial drafting and CAD design. Even though he retired, Jerry’s love of the classroom drew him back to HFCC to teach one class.
In addition to the DIA, Jerry shares his talents with asbe Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides educational training and forums in industrial education. Jerry volunteers his expertise at various training seminars. He is also involved with the Model T Automotive Heritage Complex, otherwise known as the T-Plex Museum, the birthplace of the Ford Model T.
For Jerry, retirement is anything but dull.
