Volunteer Award Winner:
Ruth Moss
Volunteer to Volunteer - December 2008
Ruth Moss has been a Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) volunteer for 21 years. She served 14 years on the Membership Committee before it dissolved, and was its recording secretary for a term. A Museum Shop volunteer ever since, Moss enjoys helping DIA visitors and staff as well as working around the gorgeous shop merchandise. Moss was the MS Volunteer of the Year in 1999. Some of her best memories at the museum include Security Officer Luther Chaney. She counts herself lucky to have run into him one day last year while attending a performance at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C. He gave her group a private tour of that world-renowned Library.Support the DIA
