Volunteer Award Winner:
Carol Quaglia
Volunteer to Volunteer - September 2008
Carol Quaglia, a 12-year volunteer for the Detroit Institute of Arts' (DIA) Art to the Schools Committee (ATS), is the October Volunteer to Volunteer award winner. She is very outgoing, and willingly involves herself in projects that help others. After working as a medical assistant in a physician's office for 27 years, Quaglia retired so that she could participate in activities she enjoys such as crafting and volunteering. During her tenure as a DIA volunteer Quaglia served as recording secretary and treasurer for ATS. She also helped with projects including Staff Coffee, enrichment planning, Noel Night, the School Bus Tour contest, and Festival of the Arts. In addition to her ATS work at the museum, Quaglia recently helped organize projects to provide books and winter coats to children at two schools in Detroit.Support the DIA
