About the Artwork
Marc’s gentle paintings depict animals—with the conspicuous absence of man—in nature. His search for an unspoiled state of existence, in which all elements of the world live in harmony, led him to choose animals as the most fitting symbol of a harmonious state of being in a primeval world. Kaleidoscopic patterns of vibrant color fuse the animals and the landscape elements, expressing Marc’s belief in nature as an interrelated force.
