Said to have belonged to James Lenox (1800-1880), founder of the Lenox Library, New York
or to his brother, Robert Lenox, the ancestor of Mrs. Eliza Lenox (Maitland) Dwight (1848-1922), of Morristown, New Jersey, who gave the cap to the Donors.
