About the Artwork

Despite its small size, this watercolor captures the aura of a fine summer day. There is a sense of movement-in the clouds, in the branches of the trees, and In the shimmer of the pond. To best see this work, one must be at least six feet away. Close at hand, details such as the line of plants along the pond become totally abstract. However, at a distance the short fluid strokes of blue, green, and yellow magically combine. The pond with its border emerges, and the luxuriant trees and foliage of a purplish-blue hue take on more defined shapes.
