AAW Arts and Minds Lecture and Dinner

Beginning in the 1500s, the rapid expansion of direct trade between the Americas and Asia spurred a remarkable interchange of artworks and artistic styles. Dennis Carr, curator of American Decorative Arts at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, will discuss works by New World artists in Spanish, English, French, Dutch, and Portuguese colonies who were inspired by imported Asian wares to create spectacular works of art that blended European, Asian and indigenous influences.
