Artist Demonstration: Comix Remix

Pop artists such as Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol made use of comic book imagery as a source of humor and as a way of transforming popular heroic imagery into commentary on American culture. Artist Ryan Standfest will lead a workshop that will remix art from the pages of today’s comic books using collage and drawing, while visitors produce their own remixed versions of contemporary superhero mythologies.

This program is in conjunction with the DIA’s special exhibition From Camelot to Kent State: Pop Art, 1960-1975 on view through August 25, 2019, in the Schwartz Galleries of Prints and Drawings, 1st Level.
