Friday Night Live!: Films of Mohamed Bayoumi with live score by The National Arab Orchestra

The Arab American National Museum’s Global Fridays series and the DIA present the world premiere of an original film score written by Michael Ibrahim, founder and director of the National Arab Orchestra, to accompany a screening of rarely-seen silent films from the 1920s and 1930s by pioneering Egyptian director Mohamed Bayoumi. A discussion led by Egyptian history and film scholar Mohannad Ghawanmeh will be a part of this unique evening. (approx. 120 min.)

Admission is free to this event with museum admission, however guarantee a seat by reserving here.

This program is a National Performance Network Creation Fund Project, co-commissioned by the AANM, the City of Chicago and NPN, in partnership with the National Arab Orchestra and support from the Detroit Institute of Arts.
