Hernan Bas | Artist Lecture
Join the Friends of Modern and Contemporary Art (FMCA) for an evening with Detroit- and Miami-based painter Hernan Bas. Bas will discuss his artistic practice, including his monumental painting Sorting Out Andy, recently acquired by the Detroit Institute of Arts.
In addition to the DIA, Bas’s work is included in the permanent collections of New York’s Brooklyn Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, and Whitney Museum of American Art; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami; and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; among others.
Lecture is free and open to the public. Independent viewing of Bas’s painting Sorting Out Andy will be available prior to and after the lecture.
