Homeschool families— escape the winter blahs with an afternoon of creativity and wonder at the DIA! Families will have a chance to delve deeper into the DIA’s collection through drawing in the galleries and unconventional activities using the permanent collection with the Gallery Teaching team.
Drawing in the Galleries:
Create a pencil drawing to take home while taking a closer look at the collection. No experience necessary. All supplies provided. Recommended for ages 6 - Adult (children 12 and under should be accompanied by an adult).
Join DIA Gallery Teachers for these fun and out-of-the-box gallery explorations designed for learners of all ages. These are NOT your regular museum tours!
Space is limited for both activities, so we ask that families sign up for a one-hour timeslot when checking in on the day of the event. Pre-registration for this event is required.
Admission is free for families who reside in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. All other homeschool educators can sign up for a DIA Educator Pass to receive free general admission to the museum. Museum admission is $6 for children ages 6-17 who reside outside the tri-county area, children 5 and under receive free admission.
