Minds on Art
Minds on Art, in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Michigan Chapter, is a free five-week art-based program for people living with memory loss, along with a companion. This unique program provides individuals in the early and mid-stages of the disease with opportunities to create meaningful experiences together through art. No artistic experience required!
Art talks and art-making activities provide cognitive stimulation, encourage socialization and enrich relationships, help reduce stress and anxiety and promote self-expression. The mid-stage group meets at the museum on Mondays; the early-stage group meets on Tuesdays. A phone screening will determine group placement at registration. Registered participants are asked to attend at least 3 out of the 5 sessions. FREE parking is provided.
