The Detroit Institute of Arts has partnered with the Oakland County Parks to offer a special virtual program, Motown Sound.
Drummer / Percussionist / Songwriter Drew Schultz will lead an educational presentation on the evolution of the "Motown Sound." Fueling hits by artists including Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, The Temptations, Four Tops, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Junior Walker & The All Stars, and more.
The Sound Of Young America was a combination of a stable lineup of musicians, producers, songwriters, and studio engineers that resulted in an immediately identifiable sonic fingerprint for countless hits of the 60s and 70s coming out of the Motor City.
