Week of Italian Language in the World: Celebrating Italian Cinema

The 17th “Week of Italian Language in the World” (La Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo), October 16 through 22, is an annual event organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and focuses this year on the great legacy of Italian movies. In partnership with the Consulate of Italy in Detroit and Istituto Luce Cinecittà, the DFT will present a festival of five rarely screened, pioneering Italian-language classics from five different decades, restored for the big screen and presented with English subtitles. Films will be presented October 19th through 22nd and are listed individually. Check individual titles for dates and showtimes. Tickets for each film are available online or at the door.
