Celebrate National Poetry Month with intimate readings by three accomplished poets. Alise Alousi, Sakila Islam, and Dunya Mikhail will each read a selection of poems focusing on identity. Sakila Islam is a spoken word poet from Detroit, Michigan. She strives to intertwine the Bangladeshi, American, Muslim, WOC, among other aspects of her identity in her work. She is a two-time representative of the Detroit Slam Team, and has performed at TEDxDetroit and at the White House.
